BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORK:  The Work includes but is not limited to the installation of an Outdoor Generator and  Decommissioning of Existing Generator located 2 Water Well Lane in the Town of Aurora.

MEETING:  Bidders are invited to attend a non mandatory site meeting to be held on November 9, 2021 at 10:00 am located at 2 Water Well Lane, Aurora. Attendance MUST be confirmed via email to susan.hope@york.ca  or access will be denied.  

1. Bidder’s site Visit - COVID-19 Screening procedure for Contractors:

• Each representative must complete the following online screening form http://york.ca/contractorscreening prior to the site visit. Visitors will be asked to show proof of your COVID-19 screening form and business identification to site staff in order to enter the site.
• All bidders are encouraged to submit any questions to the Region using the ‘Submit a Question’ feature in the Bidding Website, a minimum of three (3) Business Days before the information meeting.
• The Contractor will be required to comply with all legislative amendments, controls, regulations, requirements and orders that were or are issued by the Government of Canada or the Province of Ontario in response to the global pandemic of the virus leading to COVID‐19 including any resurgence or mutation thereof.

All Addenda will be issued on the Bids & Tenders website. 

DEPOSIT:  All Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of $150,000.00 in the form of a digital Bid Bond from a recognized guarantee or surety company acceptable to the Region and authorized by law to do business in the Province of Ontario. 

Bidders shall submit a digital Undertaking to Bond with their Bid. The Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Estimated Contract Price; and a Labour and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to 50% of the Estimated Contract Price and in a form acceptable to the Region.  

CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION:  The Region has implemented the Certificate of Recognition (CORTM) safety program, endorsed by the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA), as a requirement on Regional construction projects.  The Region will only accept Bids from Bidders who:

(a) are CORTM certified;

(b) have obtained CORTM equivalency; or

(c) have obtained a valid Letter of Reciprocity issued by the IHSA, indicating that they are in the process of obtaining CORTM equivalency. A copy of the valid Letter of Reciprocity must be submitted with the Bid.

Any Bids received from Bidders who are not CORTM certified, who have not obtained CORTM equivalency or who have not submitted a valid Letter of Reciprocity shall be rejected from further consideration.
