The Region will ONLY accept ELECTRONIC BID SUBMISSIONS submitted through the Region’s Bids and Tenders website for this Request for Tender. HARD COPY BID SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  Bids must be submitted and received by the Region not later than 1:00:00 p.m., local time as established by the Research Council of Canada.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORK – The Region is inviting bids for the supply of all labour, materials and equipment necessary for the purchase and removal of York Region Transit surplus fleet and Equipment.

MEETINGS:  Bidders are advised the surplus buses can be viewed on July 8, 2022 at the following location at times:

1. 8300 Keele Street, Vaughan, L4K 2A5 at 9:00 a.m.
2. 8050 Woodbine Ave, Markham, L3R 2N8 at 10:30 a.m.
3. 55 Orlando Avenue, Richmond Hill L4B 0B4 12:00 p.m.
4. 18106 Yonge Street, Newmarket, L3Y 8V1 at 1:30 p.m.

*Note: Refer to Appendix 1 of the RFQ for the list of buses available and their location.

Viewing of the buses and Equipment is recommended but is not mandatory.

All attendees MUST:

  • Confirm their attendance prior to the Site visit with the Region’s Purchasing Analyst by emailing Susan.Elkins@york.ca no later than July 5, 2022 at 4:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time). Preference to only have one representative from each bidder is preferred.
  • Complete a COVID-19 Screening for Contractors and Vendors Form (http://york.ca/contractorscreening) no more than 24 hours prior to attendance.

  • Bring and wear a face mask or covering that must be worn at all times while on site to reduce the spread of COVID-19
    Attendees who do not comply with these requirements will not be permitted to attend the site visit. Where the screening shows a risk of exposure or COVID-19 symptoms are present, the Regions contact will inform the attendee they will not be permitted to attend.
    As we are still under the province’s stay-at-home order, the Bidders Site Visit will be limited to small groups, while still ensuring physical distancing.

ON SITE COVID-19 PROTOCOL:

• Maintain a minimum a distance of two metres (six feet) from others.
• If physical distancing of two metres (6 feet) cannot be maintained, eye protection (goggles, face
shield or wrap-around safety glasses) must be worn in addition to face masks or coverings.
• Stay at home if you are not feeling well - even if your symptoms are only mild.
• Sanitize hands and mobile devices prior to entering the site.
• Wash your hands thoroughly and often.
• Practice good respiratory etiquette.

SITE SAFETY PROTOCOL:  The following Personal Protective Equipment is required to be worn on site at all times:

• Safety Helmet, High Visibility Clothing and Protective Footwear
