The Region will ONLY accept ELECTRONIC BID SUBMISSIONS submitted through the Region’s Bids and Tenders website for this Request for Tender. HARD COPY BID SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The following is a list of pre-qualified contractors that have been approved to bid on this Request for Tender ("RFT") under Request for Pre-Qualification No. PQ-17-16:
Bidders intending to submit a Bid must be one of the above noted pre-qualified contractors. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORK - The Work includes, perform the Work required by the Contract Documents for Contract No. 17-103 for the reconstruction and widening of Major Mackenzie Drive West from Islington Avenue to Pine Valley Drive in the City of Vaughan, including Site preparation, excavation, grading, concrete curb and gutters, concrete sidewalks, asphalt pathways, storm sewers, drainage works, precast structural culvert, culverts, bridge structures, toe wall, traffic control signals, illumination, pavement markings, landscaping, signage, environmental protection and related works; and do and fulfill everything indicated by the Contract Documents; and complete the Work within the Contract Time. MEETING: A Bidders Meeting will be held at the Region’s Office, 90 Bales Drive - 20010 - TRN Boardroom, on Thursday May 16, 2019 commencing at 2:30 PM. The Bidders Meeting will not be a mandatory meeting and minutes of the meeting will be issued via Addendum. All
Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of $250,000.00 in the
form of a digital Bid Bond from a recognized guarantee or surety company
acceptable to the Region and authorized by law to do business in the Province
of Ontario. Bidders are advised that the Region has implemented the Certificate of Recognition (CORTM) safety program, endorsed by the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA), as a requirement on Regional construction projects. Bidders must be registered for the CORTM Safety Program with the IHSA in order to submit a Bid in response to this tender, and/or to be considered for award of the Contract. Any Bids received from Bidders who have not registered for the CORTM Safety Program with the IHSA shall be rejected from further consideration. On behalf of the Council of The Regional Municipality of York, I wish to advise that the bid received from Aecon Construction and Materials Limited for Contract No. 17-103 - Reconstruction and Widening of Major Mackenzie Drive West (Y.R.25) from Islington Avenue (Y.R.17) to Pine Valley Drive (Y.R.57) in the City of Vaughan has been accepted in the amount of $36,465,586.76 excluding HST.
