BRIEF DESCRIPTION:  The South Services Centre is located at 50 High Tech Road in the Town of Richmond Hill, serves as one of York Region’s Public Resource Centres. It is approximately 110,000 ft² in size and is primarily office space.  It accommodates Courts Services, York Region Transit Human Resources and Community Health Services.

The Region is undertaking renovation on the 3^rd and 4^th floors that will include the following work:

• new carpet
• lighting upgrades
• drywall patching and repairs
• painting
• new signage to Regional standard
• renovation of two main reception and waiting areas on the 3^rd and 4^th floors to meet Bill 168 and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. Renovations will include drywall partitions, doors, glass, ceiling, millwork, lighting, sprinklers, security
• updating nine (9) Ontarion Works Interview rooms located on the 3^rd floor and seven (7) on the 4^th floor. This includes painting, adding slat wall and installing new carpet
• conversion of an office on the 3^rd floor into an Ontario Works Interview room 

The project will be phased in order to accommodate the ongoing programs that will continue to take place at the site as well as to provide a safe working environment for the Regional staff during the renovations. 

COR REQUIREMENTS:  Respondents are advised that the Region has implemented the Certificate of Recognition (COR^TM) Safety Program, endorsed by the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA), as a requirement on Regional construction projects.  Respondent’s will be required to provide proof of registration with the COR^TM Safety Program in a form acceptable to the Region, at its Sole Discretion, as part of their submission to this RFPQ.  In addition, the RFT issued during Stage II will include a requirement that Selected Respondents must be registered with COR^TM in order to submit a bid.
