BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by The Regional Municipality of York (the “Region”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for Aurora Central Watermain Environmental Assessment Project, as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix A) (the “Deliverables”). 

The Region hereby retains the Consultant in connection with the Project and the Consultant hereby agrees to provide the following Services under the general guidance and direction of the Region: 

• Conduct a Municipal Class EA Study to determine the appropriate watermain sizing and alignment for the Aurora Central Watermain Project and confirm that the Project remains exempt under the current Municipal Class EA requirements (formerly classified as Schedule A/A+). 
• Meet and exceed the requirements in the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act, Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Manual (Municipal Engineers Association), and the York Region Public Works Capital Delivery Consultant Requirements Manual. 
• Complete environmental and engineering studies as per the York Region Public Works Capital Delivery Consultant Requirements Manual
• Complete a preliminary design including a Preliminary Design Report (PDR) for the preferred alternative.
