HARD COPY BID SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  Bids must be submitted and received by the Region not later than 1:00:00 p.m., local time as established by the Research Council of Canada. 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORK – A general and not necessarily complete or exact description of the work is as follows:

The Work includes, road reconstruction and widening, including but not limited to, site preparation, milling, asphalt pulverization, excavation, grading, granulars, asphalt paving, concrete curb and gutters, concrete sidewalks, asphalt pathways, storm sewers, culvert replacements, culvert extensions/modifications, bridge widening over CN Rail yard, guiderail, noise walls, illumination, traffic signals, fibre optic cable, pavement markings, permanent signage, sanitary sewer, channel realignment, landscaping, environmental protection and related works on Rutherford Road (Y.R. 73) from 85 m east of Canada’s Wonderland Drive to Westburne Drive in the City of Vaughan.

Bidders intending to submit a Bid must be one of the above noted pre-qualified contractors.

The Bidders’ Information Meeting will be held virtually, on April 19, 2021 at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm (Local Time) via Microsoft Teams. All Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of $250,000.00 in the form of a digital Bid Bond from a recognized guarantee or surety company acceptable to the Region and authorized by law to do business in the Province of Ontario. 

Bidders shall submit a digital Undertaking to Bond with their Bid. The Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Estimated Contract Price; and a Labour and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to 50% of the Estimated Contract Price and in a form acceptable to the Region.

Bidders are advised that the Region has implemented the Certificate of Recognition (CORTM) safety program, endorsed by the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA), as a requirement on Regional construction projects. Bidders must be registered for the CORTM Safety Program with the IHSA in order to submit a Bid in response to this tender, and/or to be considered for award of the Contract.

Any Bids received from Bidders who have not registered for the CORTM Safety Program with the IHSA shall be rejected from further consideration.
