The Region will ONLY accept ELECTRONIC BID SUBMISSIONS submitted through the Region’s Bids and Tenders website for this Request for Proposal. HARD COPY BID SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORK - 

The Region intends to issue a Request for Tender for the construction of Highway 27 CPR Bridge Replacement and Road Widening from Martin Grove Road to Rutherford Road in 2019, with the expectation that the construction will start in Fall of 2019 and be totally performed by the end of 2021. The Works include the following:

  1. Construct rail protection system along a live rail track

  2. Construct a new through plate girder bridge to south of the existing bridge while a live train is maintained by the existing bridge

  3. Construct 1 km track diversion including subgrade, sub ballast and ballast

  4. Remove the existing bridge while train traffic is maintained by the constructed bridge

  5. Construct the second new bridge on the existing alignment

  6. Coordinate with contractors and utility companies to complete any outstanding utility relocation work

  7. Reconstruct 340 m rail track and including subgrade, sub ballast, ballast,

  8. Reconstruct 400 m Highway 27, included storm infrastructure, oil-grit separator, sidewalk, and retaining wall and land streetscaping

  9. Install illumination, signage, and pavement markings
