The Region will ONLY accept ELECTRONIC BID SUBMISSIONS submitted through the Region’s Bids and Tenders website for this Request for Tender. HARD COPY BID SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  Bids must be submitted and received by the Region not later than 1:00:00 p.m., local time as established by the Research Council of Canada. 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORK:  The Work includes, but is not limited to, installation of the following traffic control devices at the following locations in the Region of York:

• Installation and/or rebuilding of traffic control signals at the intersections of Mulock Drive (Y.R. 74) and Kennedy Road (Y.R. 3) in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville and Highway 27 (Y.R. 27) and Sheardown Drive in the Township of King
• Installation of Level 2 Type B pedestrian crossovers at the intersection of Ninth Line (Y.R. 69) and Elm Road in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville and on Baseline Road (Y.R. 8A), 640 m west of Dalton Road (Y.R. 9) in the Town of Georgina
• Installation of school crossing thermoplastic pavement markings at the intersection of Mount Albert Road (Y.R. 13) and Don Rose Boulevard in the Town of East Gwillimbury
• Installation of overhead flashing beacons at the intersection of Mount Albert Road (Y.R. 13) and Ninth Line in the Town of East Gwillimbury
• Installation of solar ground mounted flashing beacon on Wellington Street (Y.R. 15) at the Aurora GO Station in the Town of Aurora
• Installation of illumination at the intersection of Jane Street (Y.R. 55) and King Summit Drive in the Township of King

DEPOSIT:  All Bids shall be accompanied by a digital Bid Bond in the amount of $75,000.00 and a digital Undertaking to Bond. The forms of Bid Bond and Undertaking to Bond acceptable to the Region are attached as Schedules A and B to the Bid Form.

Certificate of Recognition (COR^TM) Safety Program: The Region has implemented the Certificate of Recognition (COR^TM) safety program, endorsed by the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA), as a requirement on Regional construction projects. 

The Region will only accept Bids from Bidders who:

1. are COR^TM certified;
2. have obtained a Letter of COR^TM Equivalency issued by the IHSA (COR^TM Equivalency); or
3. have obtained a valid Letter of Reciprocity issued by the IHSA, indicating that they are in the process of obtaining COR^TM Equivalency. A copy of the valid Letter of Reciprocity must be submitted with the Bid.

Any Bids received from Bidders who are not COR^TM certified, who have not obtained COR^TM Equivalency or who have not submitted a valid Letter of Reciprocity shall be rejected from further consideration.
