BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORK -  The Work includes, but is not limited to, asphalt resurfacing (base & surface course), line painting, replacement of damaged concrete curbs and sidewalks, restoration of the retaining wall, replacement of parking islands and visitor parking access control equipment, upgrading light standards, and removal and restoration of concrete stairs and ramp to the plaza.

DEPOSIT:  All Bids shall be accompanied by a digital Bid Bond in the amount of $250,000.00 and a digital Undertaking to Bond. The forms of Bid Bond and Undertaking to Bond acceptable to the Region are attached as Schedules A and B to the Bid Form.

Bidders shall submit a digital Undertaking to Bond with their Bid. The Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Estimated Contract Price; and a Labour and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to 50% of the Estimated Contract Price and in a form acceptable to the Region.

MEETING:  A meeting for all potential Bidders will be  held on Wednesday March 30, 2022 at 17250 Yonge Street, Newmarket, ON L3Y 4W5 starting at 1:00 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to clarify information in the Bid Documents and to address questions regarding the Request for Tender as well as the electronic submission requirements. All questions and responses will be recorded through formal minutes of the meeting and will be issued in an addendum.

CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION (CORTM): The Region has implemented the Certificate of Recognition (CORTM) safety program, endorsed by the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA), as a requirement on Regional construction projects. The Region will only accept Bids from Bidders who: 

1. are CORTM certified;
2. have obtained CORTM equivalency; or
3. have obtained a valid Letter of Reciprocity issued by the IHSA, indicating that they are in the process of obtaining CORTM equivalency. A copy of the valid Letter of Reciprocity must be submitted with the Bid.

Any Bids received from Bidders who are not CORTM certified, who have not obtained CORTM equivalency or who have not submitted a valid Letter of Reciprocity shall be rejected from further consideration.
