BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORK – Perform the Work required by the Contract Documents for Contract No. RFT-21-002-RT for the completion of construction activities at the Cornell Bus Terminal site located at 467 Rustle Woods Avenue, Markham. 

Regional Municipality of York, on behalf of York Region Rapid Transit Corporation (“YRRTC”), intends to issue a Request for Tender (RFT) from the following Consultants, who have been pre-qualified under: RFPQ-21-001-RT Request for Pre-Qualification for Construction Services (“RFPQ”), to complete the Cornell Bus Terminal located at 467 Rustle Woods Avenue in the City of Markham.

1. Aquicon Construction Co. Ltd.
2. Buttcon Limited
3. Dufferin Construction Company, A division of CRH Canada Group Inc.
4. M. J. Dixon Construction Limited
5. Magil Construction Ontario Inc.
6. Percon Construction Inc.
 
Bidders intending to submit Tendering for this RFT must be one of the above listed prequalified firms. Further information about YRRTC can be found at the link www.vivanext.com.

The Bidders’ Information Meeting will be held virtually, on May 7th, 2021 at 1:30 pm – 2:30pm (Local Time) via Microsoft Teams. Those who wish to attend please contact Albert Wang, Senior Purchasing Analyst: Email: albert.wang@york.ca, on or before May 5, 2021 to receive the Microsoft Teams invitation.

All Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of $250,000.00 in the form of a digital Bid Bond from a recognized guarantee or surety company acceptable to the Region and authorized by law to do business in the Province of Ontario. 

Bidders shall submit a digital Undertaking to Bond with their Bid. The Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Estimated Contract Price; and a Labour and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to 50% of the Estimated Contract Price and in a form acceptable to the Region.

Bidders are advised that the Region has implemented the Certificate of Recognition (CORTM) safety program, endorsed by the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA), as a requirement on Regional construction projects. Bidders must be certified for the CORTM Safety Program with the IHSA in order to submit a Bid in response to this tender, and/or to be considered for award of the Contract.

Any Bids received from Bidders who have not certified for the CORTM Safety Program with the IHSA shall be rejected from further consideration.
