BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORK - York Region plants and maintains landscaped features on Regional road right of ways, including trees, shrubs and perennials in landscaped centre medians, boulevards and roundabouts.  These plantings and associated maintenance activities are conducted throughout the Region for the purpose of creating safe and attractive streets.

From this RFPQ, the Region anticipates issuing a request for tender for the Proposed Works at the following locations in the Town of Richmond Hill, the City of Markham and the Town of Whitchurch Stouffville:

I. Highway 7 from Bayview Avenue to South Town Centre Boulevard and Warden Avenue at Cedarland Drive; and

II. South Town Centre Boulevard from Highway 7 to Cedarland Drive, and Cedarland Drive from South Town Centre Boulevard to Warden Avenue (known as the “Markham Section”)
III. York/Durham Line 30 and Concession 9 (known as the “York Durham Line Roundabout’) and;
IV. 9th Line and Bayberry Street (between Millard Street and Bethesda Sd Rd. Known as the “9th Line Roundabout”)
The Proposed Work includes some or all of the following:

• Monthly landscape maintenance activities of median and/or boulevard planters, planting beds, roundabouts, landscaped areas (weeding, litter removal, pruning, etc.)
• Supplemental, manual and/or surface watering of landscape softscape areas, roundabouts, median and boulevard planters
• Supply and installation of caliper (wire basket) trees
• Supply and installation of container grown trees, shrubs and perennials
• Supplemental tree maintenance (mulching, pruning and/or wrapping of trees, removal of tree stakes and watering bags)
