The Region will ONLY accept ELECTRONIC BID SUBMISSIONS submitted through the Region’s Bids and Tenders website for this Request for Tender. HARD COPY BID SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. DESCRIPTION: The Work includes but is not limited to the rehabilitation of the Pine Valley Sewage Pumping Station located at 8700 Pine Valley Drive, Vaughan and the King City Sewage Pumping Station located at 2375 King Road, King. MEETING: Bidders are invited to attend a non mandatory virtual site meeting to be held on November 3, 2021. via Microsoft Teams, commencing at 9 a.m. to 12 noon Eastern Time. (Two sites will be visited therefore, there will be a 30 minute pause after the 1st site visit to allow York Region staff to travel to the other site). All attendees are required to contact the Purchasing Analyst listed in the Bid Document or below on or before 12 noon, November 2, 2021 to request access to the Bidders’ Meeting.
All Addenda will be issued on the Bids & Tenders website. DEPOSIT: All Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of $150,000.00 in the form of a digital Bid Bond from a recognized guarantee or surety company acceptable to the Region and authorized by law to do business in the Province of Ontario. Bidders shall submit a digital Undertaking to Bond with their Bid. The Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Estimated Contract Price; and a Labour and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to 50% of the Estimated Contract Price and in a form acceptable to the Region. CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION: The Region has implemented the Certificate of Recognition (CORTM) safety program, endorsed by the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA), as a requirement on Regional construction projects. The Region will only accept Bids from Bidders who: (a) are CORTM certified; (b) have obtained CORTM equivalency; or (c) have obtained a valid Letter of Reciprocity issued by the IHSA, indicating that they are in the process of obtaining CORTM equivalency. A copy of the valid Letter of Reciprocity must be submitted with the Bid. Any Bids received from Bidders who are not CORTM certified, who have not obtained CORTM equivalency or who have not submitted a valid Letter of Reciprocity shall be rejected from further consideration. Nicholls Construction Inc. for Contract No. RFTC-313-21 for Rehabilitation of the Pine Valley Sewage Pumping Station and the King City Sewage Pumping Station has been accepted in the amount of $1,660,020.25 excluding HST.
