The Region will ONLY accept ELECTRONIC BID SUBMISSIONS submitted through the Region’s Bids and Tenders website for this Request for Pre-Qualification. HARD COPY BID SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  Responses must be submitted and received by the Region not later than 1:00:00 p.m., local time as established by the Research Council of Canada.

This Request for Pre-qualification (RFPQ) is open to all contractors who wish to be pre-qualified as general contractors eligible to bid on the Proposed Works. Only those Respondents, qualified by the Region as Selected Respondents, will be permitted to submit bids for the Proposed Works.

The Region anticipates issuing four (4) request for tenders for the Proposed Works at the following locations in the City of Vaughan, City of Markham, Township of King and Town of Newmarket:

1. Davis Drive, from Eagle Street West to Roxborough Road, Yonge Street from Savage Road to Davis Drive, Yonge Street from St Johns Side Road to Joe Persechini Drive in the Town of Newmarket
2. Highway 7, from Bruce Street to Bowes Road, Centre Street from Highway 7 to Bathurst Street and Bathurst from Centre Street to Highway 7 (including the Bathurst Connector, Dufferin Street from Steeles Ave to Beverly Glen Boulevard, in the City of Vaughan and the Keele Street Roundabout in the Township of King
3. Major Mackenzie Drive, from Highway 400 to Jane Street in the City of Vaughan
4. Highway 7, Town Centre Boulevard to Sciberras Road in the City of Markham

The Proposed Work includes some or all of the following:

• Monthly landscape maintenance activities of median and/or boulevard planters, planting beds, roundabouts, landscaped areas (weeding, litter removal, pruning, etc.)
• Supplemental, manual and surface watering of median and/or boulevard planters planting beds, roundabouts, landscaped areas
• Irrigation system spring start up, monthly irrigation system inspections, and winterization of irrigation system
• Supply and installation of caliper (wire basket) trees
• Supply and installation of container grown trees, shrubs and perennials
• Supplemental tree maintenance (mulching, pruning and/or wrapping of trees, removal of tree stakes and watering bags)

Respondent are advised that the Region has implemented the Certificate of Recognition (CORTM) safety program, endorsed by the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA), as a requirement on Regional construction projects. Bidders must be registered for the CORTM Safety Program with the IHSA in order to submit a Bid in response to this tender, and/or to be considered for award of the Contract.

Any responses received from Respondent who have not registered for the CORTM Safety Program with the IHSA shall be rejected from further consideration.
