The Region will ONLY accept ELECTRONIC BID SUBMISSIONS submitted through the Region’s Bids and Tenders website for this Request for Tender. HARD COPY BID SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  Bids must be submitted and received by the Region not later than 1:00:00 p.m., local time as established by the Research Council of Canada. 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORK – A general and not necessarily complete or exact description of the work is as follows:

The Work includes, but is not limited to, partial depth removal of asphalt, warm mix asphalt paving and intersection improvements for the following locations in the Town of Newmarket: Bayview Avenue/Prospect Street (Y.R. 34) from 100 m south of Mulock Drive (Y.R. 74) to 10 m north of Lydia Street, Leslie Street (Y.R. 12) at Leslie Valley Drive, 18106 Yonge Street (Y.R. 1) access road and Newmarket Terminal (320 Eagle Street) parking lot. And the following locations in the Township of King: Wellington Street (Y.R. 15) from Dufferin Street (Y.R. 53) to 120 m west of Bathurst Street (Y.R. 38) and 18th Sideroad (Y.R. 26) west of Bathurst Street (Y.R. 38).

All Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of $250,000.00 in the form of a digital Bid Bond from a recognized guarantee or surety company acceptable to the Region and authorized by law to do business in the Province of Ontario. 

Bidders shall submit a digital Undertaking to Bond with their Bid. The Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Estimated Contract Price; and a Labour and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to 50% of the Estimated Contract Price and in a form acceptable to the Region.

Bidders are advised that the Region has implemented the Certificate of Recognition (CORTM) safety program, endorsed by the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA), as a requirement on Regional construction projects. Bidders must be registered for the CORTM Safety Program with the IHSA in order to submit a Bid in response to this tender, and/or to be considered for award of the Contract.

Any Bids received from Bidders who have not registered for the CORTM Safety Program with the IHSA shall be rejected from further consideration.
