BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORK –A general, and not necessarily complete or exact, description of the work is as follows:  The Work includes, but is not limited to, the Construction of the Northern Extension of An Eastern Underpass and An Elevator Pavilion at the North Side of Major Mackenzie Drive between Highway 400 and Jane Street in the City of Vaughan.

Bids will be accepted from the following list of pre-qualified general contractors as per Pre-qualification No. PQ-19-314:

•  Brennan Paving & Construction Ltd.

•  Dagmar Construction Inc.

•  Dufferin Construction Company

•  EllisDon Civil Ltd.

Any Bids received from Bidders not listed above shall be rejected from further consideration.

The Bidders’ Meeting will be held on September 1, 2020 at Mackenzie Health, 3200 Major Mackenzie Drive, West, Vaughan ON, L6A 5A9.  An email will be sent to the above listed prequalified contractors to select the time slots.

All Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of $250,000.00 in the form of a digital Bid Bond from a recognized guarantee or surety company acceptable to the Region and authorized by law to do business in the Province of Ontario.

Bidders shall submit a digital Undertaking to Bond with their Bid. The Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Estimated Contract Price; and a Labour and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to 50% of the Estimated Contract Price and in a form acceptable to the Region.

Bidders are advised that the Region has implemented the Certificate of Recognition (COR^TM) safety program, endorsed by the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA), as a requirement on Regional construction projects. Bidders must be registered for the COR^TM Safety Program with the IHSA in order to submit a Bid in response to this tender, and/or to be considered for award of the Contract.

Any Bids received from Bidders who have not registered for the COR^TM Safety Program with the IHSA shall be rejected from further consideration.
