The Region will ONLY accept ELECTRONIC BID SUBMISSIONS submitted through the Region’s Bids and Tenders website for this Request for Tender. HARD COPY BID SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. MTO Qualified General Contractors This Request for Tender is issued in accordance with the MTO Qualification Procedures for Contractors. In order to be qualified to submit a Bid in response to this Request for Tender, a Bidder must be a Rated Contractor with the MTO with an approved Contractor Registration Form and Tender Registration Form. The required ratings for this Request for Tender are:
The MTO will determine whether Bidders must meet one or both of the above-noted ratings in accordance with the MTO’s Qualification Procedures for Contractors. Any Bids received from Bidders that have not submitted a TRF to the MTO and met the required available financial rating and/or the required maximum workload ratings indicated above, as confirmed to the Region by the MTO, shall be rejected from further consideration. Brief description: A general and not necessarily complete or exact description of the work is as follows: The Work includes, but is not limited to, Site preparation, excavation, grading, asphalt paving, curb and gutter, storm sewer, drainage, illumination, landscaping, bridge widening and traffic signals on Major Mackenzie Drive from Highway 400 to Jane Street in the City of Vaughan. All Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of $250,000.00 in the form of a digital Bid Bond from a recognized guarantee or surety company acceptable to the Region and authorized by law to do business in the Province of Ontario. Bidders shall submit a digital Undertaking to Bond with their Bid. The Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Estimated Contract Price; and a Labour and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to 50% of the Estimated Contract Price and in a form acceptable to the Region. Bidders are advised that the Region has implemented the Certificate of Recognition (CORTM) safety program, endorsed by the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA), as a requirement on Regional construction projects. Bidders must be registered for the CORTM Safety Program with the IHSA in order to submit a Bid in response to this tender, and/or to be considered for award of the Contract. Any Bids received from Bidders who have not registered for the CORTM Safety Program with the IHSA shall be rejected from further consideration. On behalf of the Council of The Regional Municipality of York, I wish to advise that the bid received from Rafat General Contractor Inc. for Contract No. 20-103 for Site Preparation, Excavation, Grading, Asphalt Paving, Curb and Gutter, Storm Sewer, Drainage, Illumination, Landscaping, Bridge Widening and Traffic Signals on Major Mackenzie Drive from Highway 400 to Jane Street in the City of Vaughan has been accepted in the amount of $20,847,729.95, excluding HST.
